Mr. Katayama has been highly evaluated at many public exhibitions including the Showakai exhibition and has continued his creative activities enthusiastically for long years being involved in creation of the public sculptures such as "Ozeki Kaiko" (Noogata City) and "Inochi ha Kagayaki, Tsunagaru (Lives Glow and Connect)" (Itoshima City).
As expressed by the subtitle of this exhibition, "Figures of Serenity," his works hold deep spirituality in quiet appearance. Each of his works quietly speaks of wishes in people's deep mind and prayer for peace such as "gratitude," "hope" and "dream."
Additionally, Mr. Katayama has sought for long years "sculpture not only for seeing but also for touching and appreciating." New discovery by touching his works and such warmth, and moreover "conversation" with the works is also this exhibition's unique charm.
