Exhibition of Hideaki Taniguchi's World

This is his first big show at Galerie Nichido.
Since Mr. Taniguchi won the encouragement award of Yasuda Fire & Marine Insurance Art Foundation with his painting "The Hill of Nagasaki" at the 8th Nichiyo-kai Art Exhibition at the age of 21, he has explored his own artistry by reflecting in his mind the sceneries of the port of Nagasaki, Mt. Inasa and towns.
Having studied under Mr. Seiichiro Yamanaka, Professor Emeritus at Nagasaki University, he has never forgotten his master's words, "Never throw away your painting brush. Use paints like water," and passed on Mr. Yamanaka's sprit to continue his production for a long time.
His bold expressions which are concrete but not bound by the realism, strength of thick painting and vivid colors overlap with his deep love towards his hometown Nagasaki and create unique emotion in his works.
As his motto "thickness of heart is thickness of paint" shows, in his works, his deep emotions and love towards Nagasaki overlap and show us strong and warm sceneries. Please feel it in our gallery.
Hideaki Taniguchi
Born in Nagasaki in 1961. Graduated from Art Course, Faculty of Education, Nagasaki University. Won the encouragement award of Yasuda Fire & Marine Insurance Art Foundation. Won the Fuji Television Award at the Ueno Royal Museum Grand Prize Exhibition. Won the New Nichiyo-kai Award at New Nichiyo-kai Art Exhibition. Won the Jury Award at Nichiyo-kai Art Exhibition.
