Chikako Ikeguchi Exhibition -Shape of Tranquility-

We are pleased to introduce Ms. Chikako Ikeguchi's solo show of new pieces. It is her first large solo show at Galerie Nichido in 15 years since 2010. She had many major events which could have been the milestones of her life as a painter. In 2012, she became the first woman to receive the Imperial Prize and Japan Art Academy Prize for the western style painting and also became a member of Japan Art Academy. In 2018, she established "Aizumi Art Museum" by renovating her former residence. Last year, she also won the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon. Her enthusiastic painting work has been highly evaluated by various sources naming them forlornness, desolateness, passion in journeys, etc.
At this exhibition, unlike her former paintings of North America and Europe landscapes, her new-style paintings of a kind of ambiguity gives us feeling of warmth in tranquility not by depth but by more planar expressions and they are definitely must-see. Please enjoy the world of Chikako Ikeguchi with approximately 30 pieces from as large as 100 size to small ones.
