Sotaro Yasui
1888 - 1955
Born in Kyoto, Japan.

Artist`s Chronoligy

1904  studied under Chu Asai at Kansai Bijutsuin (Fine Arts Academy of Western Japan)
1907  studied at the Académie Julian in France. Later on, he continued his own study and was strongly influenced by the styles of Paul Cézanne
1935  became a member of the Imperial Fine Arts Academy.
1944  taught as a professor of Tokyo University of Arts, along with Ryuzaburo Umehara.
1952  received the Order of Culture from the Japanese government.
1955  died of pneumoniain.
